The SFP+ BIDI 20km transceiver is designed to transmit up to 10km of 10 Gb Ethernet links over single-mode fiber. The module consists of a CWDM DFB laser, PIN and preamplifier in a highly integrated optical assembly. The digital diagnostic function can be implemented via a 2-wire serial interface, as described in SFF-8472.
